LCSD will be open. Several roads are still closed in some areas. Our drivers will not travel down roads that are unsafe. There may be some delays. Parents of students living in areas that are closed or unsafe to travel should inform their child's school. Please call your child's school office with questions.

LCSD School Board Meeting Rescheduled! Due to inclement weather and current road conditions, the Lafayette County School Board meeting will be moved to Monday, January 22, at 5:30pm.
Lafayette County School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to inclement weather and current road conditions. AMI days are no longer an option; therefore, this day will be made up at the end of the school year.

Based on the uncertain nature of the weather forecast and the expected timing of the inclement weather over the next few days, it is unlikely that a definitive statement will be made about school closure until late Monday evening . Please note that the District office will be monitoring the weather and checking the roads to make a definitive statement in a timely manner for staff, students, and parents to make any necessary arrangements. School closure announcements will be made through our Facebook page, mobile app, website, and local news channels.

Interested in the joining the trap team? We have an informational/sign up meeting on Thursday, January 18 @ 6:30pm in the High School Cafeteria to go over team rules, practice schedule, and scheduled activities. Reminder for McKinney-Vento Parents and Students: Free laundromat service will be available tonight (December 28th), from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Magic Wash Laundromat in Stamps. You must bring the Voucher-card that was mailed to your house to the laundromat to receive these services.

Reminder for K-6 Elementary Parents and Guardians: Our school district will host an Affordable Connectivity Program sign-up event today (December 13th) in the elementary cafeteria from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. The ACP program allows households to save $30 dollars a month on their Internet bill. Since the elementary school is a CEP school for student breakfast and lunch (Every student eats free), every parent/guardian of a currently enrolled LCES student is automatically eligible to receive this service.
