Lafayette County Elementary School will sponsor a Grandparent's Day Breakfast on Friday, September 5th, inside the elementary cafeteria between 7:15 A.M. and 7:45 A.M. It is free for the Grandparent to sit and visit; however, there will be a cost of $1.00 to partake in the sausage biscuit breakfast.

Disposal notice of Special Education Records: In accordance with state and federal regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Lafayette County School District will permanently dispose of special education records, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) documents, from the 2017 school year and below. If you would like to obtain a copy of your or your child's records, please contact Lindsay Walters before August 15, 2025, at (lwalters@lcs.k12.ar.us), 725 Chestnut St., Lewisville, AR. 71845. These records are NOT the students' permanent records.

As we begin the summer break, the next 2 months will lead to some community service opportunities. Arkansas Code 6-16-1901: Beginning with the graduating Class of 2027, a public high school student shall complete a minimum of 75 community service hours in order to graduate. Act 803 of 2025 now allows a parent to "sign off" that the student completed a particular community service task. A student must complete and turn in a community service form to the high office for that task to count toward his or her required 75 hours. The Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative has provided area school districts with free access to the extra services from ParentGuidance.org for our parents and caregivers. This website provides parents with answers to their mental health questions. The extra services include: individual Parent Coaching sessions, Webinars on different topics, and Ask a Therapist Live workshops. Reminder for McKinney-Vento Parents and Students: Free laundromat service will be available tonight (May 27th), from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Magic Wash Laundromat in Stamps. You must bring the Voucher-card that was mailed to your house to the laundromat to receive these services.
