2020-2021 Re-Entry Plan Information

Superintendent’s Letter

LCSD Cougar Families:

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of uncertainty. COVID-19 has caused a great hardship on the students, parents, staff, and community of Lafayette County School District. However, in accordance with the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education Ready for Learning guidance, Lafayette County School District and its task force members have been working diligently to create a Re-entry plan that will provide a safe way for our staff to continue to provide a quality education for our students through a blended learning approach for 2020-2021 school year.

Below is an overview of Lafayette County School District’s Re-engagement Plan for reconstructing the traditional face-to-face classroom instruction, transportation guidelines, and disinfecting/screening procedures, while ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Resources from Arkansas Ready for Learning, Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, Arkansas Department of Health, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Arkansas Athletics Association were used to develop this plan. The recommendations balance public health concerns against the importance of education and the services schools provide to the students and community. The plan is flexible, practical and adaptable.

Please be advised that this document could change on a day to day basis. Any updates will be made available as soon as possible and released to all stakeholders. A full copy of the District’s Re-Engagement Plan will be housed on the District’s website: lcscougars.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
