AMI

Act 862 of 2017 allows a public school district and open-enrollment public charter school to develop a plan for alternative methods of instruction (AMI) to be used on days when the superintendent closes school due to exceptional or emergency circumstances such as: a contagious disease outbreak, inclement weather, or other acts of God; or a utility outage. AMI days allow for continuous learning when students miss days of regular instruction due to unforeseen circumstances. For the 2021-2022 school year, Lafayette County School District has been granted an approval of 10 days that can be used when any of the aforementioned emergency circumstances occur.

Assignments will be avalible online for elementary and high school students and must be returned within 2 days of material being assigned. Assignments will be graded and recorded in TAC. Attendance will be based on the student’s completion of assignments and will be recorded within 5 days of the AMI day.
